Naloxone KITS ARE AVAILABLE at the discovery pharmacy

In the 1-on-1 virtual (video call) or in-person training, you will learn:

  • What is an opioid?

  • How do I know if a dose of opioid is too much?

  • Where might I encounter an opioid?

  • What is Naloxone?

  • What are the 5 steps to save a life?

  • What is harm reduction?

After the training, you will receive your own Naloxone Kit. Delivery is available on campus.

Naloxone is a potentially lifesaving medication that can reverse the effects of opioids. Naloxone is safe to use with the proper training and available to you at no cost.

  • Opioid medications are prescribed for pain, such as after a dental extraction or surgery.

  • Opioid medications can be effective when used appropriately.

  • High doses of opioids can cause drowsiness, respiratory depression, and loss of consciousness.

  • Naloxone can reverse the effects of excessive doses of opioids.

  • Naloxone is available as a nasal spray and injection.

  • Prompt administration of naloxone increases the effectiveness of the medication.

  • You can get a naloxone kit at most pharmacies.
